In an interwar Bucharest, the circus square is invaded by the heat of summer, here we find the itinerant sellers of sweets, toys and other attractions for children. The story starts with the appearance of the naughty children who spoil the mood of the market, but especially that of the sleeping clown, always left behind in time. He easily becomes the favorite puppet of the mischievous group of children, who plot to sabotage the circus performance. The group's favorite meeting place remains the carousel, where plans for the day are always made.
So that the story does not remain incomplete, love appears among the villains, the Carouselist and Chiva, two naive young people, united by love at first sight. The children's groups separate due to misunderstandings, the conflict increases when the attachment to the events at the circus appears among the children. Boys and girls fall out, common goals diverge, boys choose revenge and gratuitous mischief, and girls choose reconciliation.
Left out of the circus tent just before the show starts, the group of boys get a taste of the friendship that will eventually transform them and bring them back together for more adventures.
The circus symbolizes childhood and its purity, under the dome of the circus, the carousel spins full of memories!
The Carousel of Friendship will take place in the Foyer of the Bucharest National Opera.
